Russian Game Publisher 1C Acquires BUKA

Moscow - 1C Company, a Moscow-based video game publisher, announced on Thursday that it has acquired fellow Russian game publisher and distributor BUKA for an undisclosed sum.

The companies said they are not currently planning to merge their operations, but "will try to make the best use of the synergy in their publishing, distribution and marketing activities."

Founded in 1991, 1C has published over 100 projects for PC and consoles in Eastern and Central Europe; BUKA was established in 1993, and counts partnerships with publishers and developers including THQ, Ubisoft, Valve and Codemasters.
