Los Angeles - PodTech, a publisher of video podcasts about new technology that raised over $7.5 million in venture capital, has been sold for less than half a million dollars to ViewPartner, a holding company of multimedia technologies, VentureBeat reported.

Founded in 2005, Palo Alto, Calif.-based PodTech started as an audio podcast network, then expanded to video and landed noted blogger Robert Scoble, but Scoble and CEO John Furrier left the company last year.

"The PodTech team led by co-founder, Jason Lopez, and Darold Massaro, vice president of sales, is what attracted us to this company," said ViewPartner CEO Alex Varonos.

"We believe in these people and will make certain that PodTech and its clients have the financial and strategic support to take podcasting or any kind of broadcasting on the Net to the next level... PodTech will be the first to deliver HD quality broadcast on the Internet within the next year."
