London - Raindance.TV, a site that distributes independent features, shorts and documentaries online, has raised just under $1 million in its first financing, and plans to launch its own streaming website in the fall, Variety reports.

Details on investors were not provided.

The London-based, ten-month-old company has so far distributed some 30 feature films and 200 shorts across sites including Dailymotion, Joost and Babelgum.

The site grew out of the Raindance film festival and British Independent Film Awards (BIFA).
