Vancouver, Canada - MovieSet, a site that offers behind-the-scenes video of films in production, has received a $1.5 million investment from the British Columbia Discovery Fund as part of a $5 million round of financing, led by Rho Canada.

Vancouver-based MovieSet also offers a Web-based toolkit to movie producers, including e-commerce and mobile applications, which they can use to get footage of their productions up and generate interest in their films.

"Our currently available beta-version is the 'tip of the iceberg' compared to what we have under construction," said MovieSet founder and CEO Colleen Nystedt.

"We expect that MovieSet will revolutionize the way movies are produced and marketed and transform the relationship between filmmakers and fans, shifting the emphasis to the creative journey rather than just the end product."
