McLean, Va. - Expanding on a three-month-old partnership between the companies, Gannett (NYSE: GCI), the publisher of USA Today and 84 other daily papers, said that it has led a new round of funding for New York-based Mogulus, the developer of a live, streaming video service.

Though the companies did not disclose the size of the round, both TechCrunch and CNET News.com, citing unnamed sources, reported it at around $10 million.

Year-old Mogulus has developed a platform that allows users to develop their own Internet TV channels.

The company competes with other upstarts such as Kyte, Ustream and Justin.tv.

Online video giant YouTube also is rumored to be launching a similar service later this year.
