Verve Wireless Lands $3 Million for Newspaper Mobile Services

Encinitas, Calif. - Verve Wireless, a provider of mobile products and services for publishers, has raised $3 million in its second round of venture capital financing, led by the Associated Press with participation from Iron Capital and others, VentureWire reported.

Encinitas, Calif.-based Verve Wireless already provides its services to the Associated Press, as well as fellow publishers The New York Times Company, McClatchy Interactive and Media General.

The company, which previously raised $2.5 million in July 2007, was founded by former Village Voice Media president Art Howe.
