San Francisco - ScanCafe, a photo scanning and restoration service, said that it has raised $4 million in its second round of funding, led by Sigma Partners.

The company, which also secured another $1.5 million in debt funding, plans to use a portion of the proceeds to invest in new technology and expand its global reach.

Founded in 2006, San Francisco-based ScanCafe offers photo, negative and slide scanning and restoration services, and recently scanned its 10 millionth image.

Customers mail in their boxes of photos, slides and negatives, and the company scans, restores and organizes the images, providing clients with access to an online library to view and select the images they'd like to keep.

Selected images are then burned to a DVD or CD and shipped back to the customer along with all of the originals.

Competitors for them

The other factor is the high level of competition now facing them. I listed them all in the spreadsheet http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=phRG-JoD0f6N8DrY8b8ZGLw
