Santa Clara, Calif. - Vudu, a broadband set-top box-based video-on-demand service, announced on Wednesday the launch of a 99-cent summer movie download promotion. A selection of 99 films will be available for 99 cents each, while users will also be able to renew any standard definition video rental for 99 cents within the first seven days of viewing -- or $1.99 per title for HD movie rental extensions.
