New York - Deutsche Telekom owned T-Mobile USA will be the first carrier to offer a mobile phone based on Google’s Android software. The company is aiming for a pre-holiday launch, maybe as early as October, according to a report in The New York Times citing unnamed sources.
The phone many gadget sites are calling the “dream,” will be made by smartphone maker High Tech Computer Corp and the goal is to challenge Apple’s popular iPhone and other high-end cell phones such as Nokia N95.
Neither Google or T-Mobile have made any official comments on the report.
