PopCap Games Hits 25 Million Units Sold on "Bejeweled"Authored by Mark Hefflinger on August 19, 2008 - 4:36pm.
Dublin, Ireland - Casual games publisher PopCap Games announced on Tuesday that its flagship "Bejeweled" franchise has hit 25 million in unit sales. More than 350 million copies of the game have been downloaded from the Web, while tens of millions of copies have been installed on mobile phones. "Considering we tried to sell Bejeweled outright to more than one industry giant back in the early days of our company, and got no takers even after reducing our asking price to US$60,000, this little game has done all right for itself," said Jason Kapalka, chief creative officer and co-founder of PopCap.
