Deerfield Beach, Fla. - Mike Levy, the founder of CBS Sportsline.com, has launched a new online sports site, called OPENSports.com, which will offer breaking sports news, social media tools, user-generated content and multimedia applications.

Levy's former company, Sportsline.com, raised $44 million in venture capital, went public, and was subsequently acquired by Viacom in 2004.

"OPEN Sports users will be able to compete against other passionate fans with next-generation fantasy games," according to an announcement.

"In addition, users have the ability to participate in a new kind of social experience around gameday, get the latest sports news and information from the best national and local sources, and keep their friends and other sports fans informed by uploading relevant videos, photos and stories."
