Foster City, Calif. - Qik, the provider of a live mobile video streaming platform, announced on Tuesday that it has received a "significant investment" from Netscape veterans Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz, who will also join the company's board of advisors.

Foster City, Calif.-based Qik's mobile video service is currently integrated with publishing platforms including Twitter, YouTube, Mogulus, MySpace, Orkut and Justin.tv.

"Qik lets people share experiences live, on a global basis, through its truly innovative mobile technology," said Andreessen.

"I'm looking forward to guiding Qik, as an advisor, as the company progresses its acceleration as the world's premiere mobile communication service."
