San Francisco - Light Reading Communications Network, a publishing, events and research company for the communications marketplace owned by San Francisco-based TechWeb, said that it has acquired Pyramid Research, a Massachusetts-based provider of communications industry market data.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Pyramid analyzes and forecasts demand for communications and media services, applications, networks and devices in more than 100 countries, with a focus on developing markets.

Tony Uphoff, the CEO of TechWeb said that the addition of Pyramid "more than doubles the size of our research portfolio and positions TechWeb for increased global growth."
