- Viacom's (NYSE: VIA) Paramount Pictures announced that it has acquired Screenlife, the
developer of "Scene It?" DVD-based trivia games, for an
undisclosed sum.
Launched in 2002, Screenlife now offers over 20 different "Scene It?" games across 26 countries and 50,000 retail locations. The company has licenses from all the major studios and networks to use clips of their movies and TV shows in the game, which has to date sold over 15 million units across platforms including DVD, game consoles and mobile phones. "The acquisition of Screenlife advances Paramount Digital Entertainment's multiplatform strategy and will enable us to create new digital content that is interactive, entertaining and easily accessible to audiences everywhere," said Paramount Digital Entertainment president Thomas Lesinski.
