San Francisco
- Sportgenic, an online advertising network for sports-related sites, announced
on Monday that it has closed a $10 million second round of venture capital financing,
led by Adams Street Partners.
Previous backers Alsop Louie Partners, KPG Ventures and Greycroft Partners also participated. Launched in 2005, San Francisco-based Sportgenic counts more than 350 sites in its publisher network, which it claims now ranks second behind Yahoo Sports in "potential reach," according to comScore data. The company will use the new funding to invest in its ad network technology and expand its sales force.
