Boston - Democrats Barack Obama and Joe Biden have attracted 3.7 million views of their respective party convention speeches online (Obama: 3.3 million; Biden: 405,000), compared with 2.4 million views of Web videos of conventions speeches by Republicans John McCain and Sarah Palin (McCain: 400,000; Palin: 2 million), according to a report from Internet video measurement service Visible Measures.

Overall, the 278 videos posted by the Democratic National Convention have so far been viewed 7.8 million times, compared with less than 3 million views of the 265 videos posted by the Republican National Convention.

Other convention speech video view counts tallied by Visible Measures included Sen. John Kerry (144,000), former Vice President Al Gore (80,000) and President Bush (6,500).

The firm also counted the total number of comments posted on Democrat and Republican convention videos, with the Republicans leading 39,160 to 37,934; comments on Sarah Palin videos numbered more than 29,000.
