New York - Mobile entertainment distributor Thumbplay on Tuesday
launched a beta of Thumbplay Open, an online marketplace where independent
content owners can upload and sell their digital content. Users will generate
$5 - $8 per new subscriber they attract to the Thumbplay service. Separately,
New York-based Thumbplay said it has partnered with Comcast (NASD: CMCSA) to distribute
mobile content through the company's Comcast.net site.
