Washington - A 26-year-old found guilty of conspiracy and felony copyright infringement as an administrator of EliteTorrents, a BitTorrent file-sharing tracker site shut down in 2005, has been sentenced to 18 months in prison.

Daniel Dove, who had pleaded "not guilty," will also serve three years of supervised release and pay a $20,000 fine.

The U.S. Justice Department said Dove was a "high-ranking" administrator at EliteTorrents, which at its height counted over 125,000 members and offered around 700 movies -- including pre-release titles -- that were downloaded more than 1.1 million times.

Eight other EliteTorrents administrators and uploaders have previously been convicted on copyright infringement charges.
