Buzz Watch: Illusion Labs' iPhone Game iPint Breaks New Ground for Mobile Phone MarketingAuthored by Jay Baage on September 12, 2008 - 9:02am.
The startup Illusion Labs was founded by fellow Swedes Carl Loodberg and Andreas Alptun a year ago and it is getting a lot of buzz. The company is developing applications specifically for Apple's iPhone. Their first game called Labyrinth has become one of the top selling apps for the iPhone. According to the company, Labyrinth is downloaded over 80,000 times a day! The game is free, but there is a more fancy paid version available as well for $6.99, which reportedly is selling well, much due to the popularity of the free version. Illusion Labs is also getting a lot of attention for its latest creation, an advergame called called iPint for Carling beer. It's pretty cool, the way it works is that using the iPhone motion sensor, the user tilts his or her phone to guide a beer down a bar through a variety of obstacles, the goal is to get it safely into a waiting hand. If you make it without spilling, the screen changes into a pint glass with Carling's logo on it. I'm sure that we will see much more of this stuff in the future.
