Madrid - A Spanish court has ruled that a site offering links to download media files on third-party sites does not infringe on copyrights, TorrentFreak reported.

The Provincial Court of Madrid has upheld a previous decision that found Sharemula, which indexes links to files on the eDonkey file-sharing network, is not breaking the law.

Sharemula was originally sued a year ago, by companies including Disney, Fox, Warner, Universal, Paramount and Sony, following a law enforcement action that saw the arrests of 15 people associated with the site.

Their appeal of that first ruling has been dismissed by the Provincial Court of Madrid; its decision is final and cannot be appealed, according to TorrentFreak.
