Hong Kong - Customs officials in Hong Kong have arrested a 14-year-old boy on charges of copyright infringement for posting songs on a website, the Associated Press reported.

The boy is alleged to have uploaded some 2,000 Chinese-language pop (Cantopop) songs on a website where they could be downloaded by others for free, and then advertised the site in discussion groups, customs official Michael Kwan told AP.

The boy has not yet been charged, and was released on a bail of about $260.

The maximum copyright infringement penalty in Hong Kong is four years in prison and a fine of about $9,300.

Customs official Kwan also told AP that his agency has previously arrested two other teenagers on suspicion of similar crimes.
