New York - The National Hockey League (NHL) is introducing a new Web streaming service, GameCenter Live, that will allow subscribers to watch most every game live from its website, The Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday.

Starting next month, GameCenter -- which will cost $169 for the full season -- will offer up to 40 games per week, and let subscribers watch up to four games at once.

The league told WSJ the service was an easier sell because "its TV revenues are so much smaller than those of giants like the NFL that it has the freedom to experiment with online video without the risk of angering its television partners."
