Abacast Buys Peer-Assisted Content Delivery Network Tukati

Camas, Wash. - Abacast, a provider of real-time streaming media delivery technology, announced that it has acquired Tukati, a provider of peer-assisted on-demand delivery services.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Camas, Wash.-based Abacast said the deal will create the first content distribution network to offer hybrid peer-assisted distribution of both live and on-demand streaming media.

Founded in 2001, Kirkland, Wash.-based Tukati operates a secure peer-to-peer network that can speed the delivery of content across the Internet.
