San Mateo, Calif. - MotionDSP, a developer of video enhancement technology, has received an investment from graphics chipmaker Nvidia as part of its first round of funding, which remains open, VentureBeat reported.

The amount of Nvidia's investment was not disclosed.

San Mateo, Calif.-based MotionDSP's FixMyMovie application corrects blurring and lighting in consumer videos, and purports to improve resolution by four times.

The company was founded in 2005, raised $1 million in angel funding in 2006 from backers including the CIA, and debuted its consumer technology at the DEMOfall 07 conference.

MotionDSP CEO Sean Varah told VentureBeat the technology could eventually be used to improve the resolution of real-time video, like conference calls.
