Sunnyvale, Calif. - Yahoo has hired the consulting firm Bain & Co. to explore ways to improve efficiency within the company, although it did not explicitly mention potential layoffs, Bloomberg reported.

"Yahoo has been exploring ways to streamline our processes and bring new agility and efficiency to how we work as an organization,'' spokesman Brad Williams told Bloomberg.
