Karlsbad, Germany - German software developer Nero and TiVo (NASD: TIVO) on Monday introduced a new application that claims to duplicate the experience of using TiVo for the television on a PC.

The Nero LiquidTV | TiVo PC application lets users watch and pause live TV on their desktop, record shows, and transfer them to portable devices or burn them to DVD.

The application, along with one year of service, will go on sale in North America next month for $199 for a retail box, or $99 for a downloadable software-only version.

The retail box includes a PC TV tuner card, TiVo remote control and IR blaster.

The TiVo service will then be renewable at a rate of $99 per year.
