Apple Drops NDA for iPhone Application DevelopersAuthored by Mark Hefflinger on October 1, 2008 - 12:48pm.
Cupertino, Calif. - Apple (NASD: AAPL) on Wednesday announced it is dropping the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) it had been making iPhone developers sign for released iPhone software. The move is expected to improve and accelerate iPhone application development, as developers are able to share their experiences with one another. "We put the NDA in place because the iPhone OS includes many Apple inventions and innovations that we would like to protect, so that others don't steal our work... However, the NDA has created too much of a burden on developers, authors and others interested in helping further the iPhone's success, so we are dropping it for released software," reads a note on the company's developer website.
