Nintendo to Release $180 New DS With Camera, Music Features

Tokyo - Nintendo has announced plans to introduce a new model of its handheld DS game system that be lighter and slimmer yet sport larger dual screens, two built-in 0.3-megapixel digital cameras, an SD card slot, Web browser and music player software.

The DSi is slated to go on sale first in Japan in November for about $180.

Reuters reported that Nintendo plans to the device outside of Japan in 2009. With the DSi, Nintendo will also introduce a complementary application store, the DSi Shop, where owners will be able to purchase and download games and applications to the Wi-Fi-enabled device.
