San Bruno, Calif. - Google's (NASD: GOOG) YouTube plans to host its first live streaming event next month in San Francisco, which will feature performances from a mix of both YouTube celebrities and artists including Akon and Will.i.am. The company secured Activision, Lionsgate and Virgin America as sponsors for the event. YouTube did not say whether the event is connected to previously announced plans to offer live streaming services.
