Washington - Following a rule change adopted last week, members of Congress may now post content on the Internet outside of the .gov domain for official purposes -- meaning they can now syndicate their videos on YouTube and other third-party sites, the Washington Post reported.

They may also embed third-party content on their official sites, as well as link to third-party sites from their .gov sites, provided they install a feature that notifies users they are leaving the site.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi called the rule change "a significant step forward toward bringing House rules into the multimedia age and allowing for members to effectively communicate with their constituents online."
