Los Angeles - Hollywood.com, an entertainment site offering celebrity and movie news, reviews and showtimes, has acquired Media by Numbers, an Encino, Calif.-based provider of box office data, analysis and commentary, Variety reported.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Hollywood.com was recently divested from parent company Hollywood Media, and acquired by a firm controlled by Hollywood Media chairman and CEO Mitchell Rubenstein and president Laurie Silvers.

At the time, the company said that Hollywood.com saw a loss of $2.5 million over the past year, and accounted for just 4% of Hollywood Media revenues.

Paul Dergarabedian, the president of Media by Numbers who makes regular appearances on the "Access Hollywood" Web show "Box Office Showdown," will remain head of the company.
