Wash. - Microsoft (NASD: MSFT) has announced
the release of Silverlight 2, the first major update to its new platform that
can be used to create and deliver media through a Web browser. The update
includes support for its .NET Framework; new built-in controls; support for
skinning and templating; cross-browser and platform support; and advanced
content protection. The company said that already, one in four consumers
worldwide has access to a computer with Silverlight already installed.
Microsoft also said that it will increase its investments to Silverlight
developers.
