London - U.K.-based ad-supported music service We7 has announced plans to shift away from providing free song downloads and towards free, ad-supported music streaming, Music Ally reports. The company told customers in an email that it will eliminate its ad-supported download feature altogether for non-U.K. users, and that the ads embedded on its downloads will no longer be removable after 28 days. "There are many reasons as to why we have taken these steps but the main one is simple economics, as we strive to focus upon the UK to build and deliver an outstanding music experience," We7 wrote in the email.
