CD Baby Founder Sivers Made $22 Million on Sale to Disc Makers

Los Angeles - Derek Sivers, the founder of online independent music store CD Baby, made $22 million this summer from the sale of his company to Disc Makers, according to Venture Voice.

Sivers owned 100% of the equity in the ten-year-old company.

CD Baby sells CDs for over 242,000 independent artists, and to date has sold over 4.5 million CDs and paid out over $83 million directly to artists.

He didn't own the company personally, it was transferred to a Charitable Trust before the sale. Where do you get your information?
