London - Top Chinese search engine Baidu has partnered with EMI and a number of local labels on a new ad-supported service that will stream upcoming releases for users, Billboard reports.

The "New Song Debut" channel features tracks from some 80 labels.

The deal between Baidu and EMI comes as fellow major record labels Universal Music, Sony BMG and Warner Music remain embroiled in copyright infringement suits against Baidu that seek a total of $9.3 million in damages.

"We are excited by this new addition to our platform and look forward to having our users stay tuned to the latest releases and developments in the music industry," Baidu told Billboard.

"We are confident that record labels will realize the value of 'New Song Debut' and welcome collaboration opportunities in this realm."
