Mountain View,
Calif. - Google (NASD: GOOG) on Monday
introduced a Google Earth application for the Apple (NASD: AAPL) iPhone and iPod touch, which
will allow users to zoom in on satellite images of the planet. The free Google Earth application is available
in 18 locations, and will function on both first- and second-generation iPhones
operating on EDGE, 3G and Wi-Fi networks. The application also includes a
"Search Near Me" function that will bring up local results like
nearby pizza parlors.
