Los Angeles - China is aiming
to complete its transition from analog to digital TV broadcasting by 2015,
Variety reported, citing a spokesman from the country's State Administration of
Radio, Film and TV.
The state-run agency is promoting digital cable in eight
major cities this year, and plans to roll out the service more widely to other
locations over the next several years.
Digital TV was available in nearly 40
million homes in China
as of the end of 2005.
