Logitech Acquires Video Conferencing Firm SightSpeed for $30M

Fremont, Calif. - Logitech, a maker of computer and gaming peripherals, announced that it will acquire SightSpeed, a provider of Internet video communications services, for about $30 million in cash.

Founded in 2001, Berkeley, Calif.-based SightSpeed has some 25 employees.

Fremont, Calif.-based Logitech said that SightSpeed will provide it with "video calling technology and a software and services development team that can be focused on future video calling initiatives that can enable cross-platform video communications with an intuitive, lifelike experience, for people sitting in front of a personal computer or with their family in a living room."
