Boston - Comedy purveyor National Lampoon announced on Thursday that it has entered into an agreement to receive an undisclosed amount of financing from the Envit Capital Group, earmarked for a slate of approved selection projects.

The financing will go toward "moderate budget feature films, P&A financing, video productions, and possible television development and production," and "may include branded comedy projects and other genre properties focused on the college demographic."

"Movies such as Van Wilder, Animal House and the Vacation series are staples in consumers DVD libraries," said Envit chairman and CEO Edward M. Laborio.

"We are embarking on this relationship with the anticipation that together with National Lampoon we will be able to bring successful movies like these to theaters across America and in consumers' homes for years to come."
