Seattle - Online game developer and publisher WildTangent has shuttered its internal development studio and laid off 20 of its employees, TechFlash reports.

The company will now instead focus on its game publishing platform, and associated advertising sales.

Just 30 or so of the company's library of nearly 1,000 game titles were developed in-house, spokesman Sean Sundwall told TechFlash.

"It's become less incumbent on us to develop our own games to satisfy our customers' needs," Sundwall added.
