Washington
- Amid lower-than-expected ratings, cable giant Comcast (NASD: CMCSA) plans to lay off most
of the 300 employees working for its CN8 network, the Associated Press reported.
The network, which reaches more than 8 million households in the Northeast,
plans to cease broadcasting in New England,
but continue in other markets, including DC and Baltimore.
It also plans to
retain its current offices in DC and Philadelphia.
The job cuts are expected to take affect in January. CN8 primarily broadcasts
public affairs and community programming.
