Los Angeles - GetBack Media, an online pop culture community, said on Thursday that it has raised $1.7 million in its first round of venture capital financing, led by Beringea.

The Los Angeles-based company added that "a syndicate of high net worth individuals and entertainment leaders" also participated in the round.

Created by the founders of Rhino Records and Shout Factory, GetBack offers thousands of hours of video and audio content, as well as millions of images, from partners including Getty Images, Universal Music, Macrovision and Intellivision.
