Yahoo's Yang Seeking Another Offer From Microsoft

Sunnyvale, Calif. - Just hours after the disintegration of his company's ad partnership with Google (NASD: GOOG), Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) CEO Jerry Yang said that he remains hopeful of striking a deal to sell the company to Microsoft. "To this day, I would say the best thing for Microsoft (NASD: MSFT) is to buy Yahoo," Yang said at a conference in San Francisco on Wednesday. "At the right price, whatever that price is."

Yahoo had originally agreed to the partnership with Mountain View-based Google while attempting to fend off Microsoft's unsolicited $31-a-share offer for the company.

Since then, shares of Yahoo have plummeted, closing on Thursday at $13.96.

Though Microsoft reportedly had offered to buy Yahoo's search business once it abandoned its plan for a full takeover, Yang said there have been no new talks between the two companies.
