Project Playlist Raises $20 Million, Names New CEO

Palo Alto, Calif. - Project Playlist, a site that lets users build song playlists and share them across social media sites, has raised around $20 million in new financing, and named former Facebook executive Owen Van Natta as its new CEO, VentureBeat reported.

Details on specific investors were not disclosed; the company previously raised $3 million in 2007.

Van Natta headed up record label relations while at Facebook, and was reportedly in the running for the chief executive spot at MySpace Music.

Palo Alto, Calif.-based Project Playlist, which claims 38 million users, is also reportedly considering an acquisition of social music site Imeem, according to VentureBeat.
