New York - Blog publisher
Gawker Media has shut down its Valleywag site, a gossip rag focused on Silicon Valley technology companies, and folded its
content into a column on its flagship Gawker.com site, CNET News.com reported.
Gawker
Media head Nick Denton earlier this year sold three of the network's blogs, and
more recently effected a round of layoffs across the editorial teams at many of
the sites.
In addition to Valleywag and Gawker, the company also operates sites
including Defamer, Wonkette, Gizmodo and Jezebel.
