New York
- Boxee, a developer of set-top box software that can deliver Web video and
audio content to a television, has raised $4 million in funding from Union
Square Ventures and Spark Capital.
New York-based Boxee's software can turn a
Mac, PC or even Apple TV device into a set-top that can stream content from
providers such as Hulu, CBS, Comedy Central, Last.fm and Flickr to a
television.
The company next year aims to launch a public beta, further develop
its product, and end the year with 1 million users.
