Los Angeles - Yahoo (NASD: YHOO) and NBC Universal's (NYSE: GE) Spanish-language network Telemundo have agreed to terminate their joint venture website, Yahoo Telemundo, by the end of the year, Mediaweek reports.

"After three successful years building Telemundo's digital identity with Yahoo and evangelizing digital media, we are ready for the next step," Telemundo executive vice president Peter Blacker told Mediaweek.

Telemundo has instead partnered with Microsoft (NASD: MSFT) to help power its new standalone site, as well as promote it on the MSN Latino portal.

Yahoo, for its part, will rebrand its U.S. Hispanic and Latin-American site as Yahoo en Espanol.
