Co-inventor of MP3 Backs Euro Electronic Music Store DJTunes

London - Co-inventor of the MP3 format Karheinz Brandenburg has invested an undisclosed amount in DJTunes, a European digital music store that stocks mainly electronic music, PaidContent reported.

Brandenburg joins German bank Beteiligungsmanagement Thuringen in the investment round, which will be used in part to launch a store devoted to hip-hop music.

DJTunes currently offers a library of over 300,000 tracks in the MP3 format, and allows users to upload and sell their own tracks.
