Paris - Two French music industry groups have filed a copyright infringement claim against Soulseek, a file-sharing network focused on electronic music, TorrentFreak reported.

The move comes days after a group of French record labels filed copyright litigation against file-sharing applications including Vuze and LimeWire.

French music producers' association SACEM, along with record label trade group SCPP, filed the suit against Soulseek.

TorrentFreak notes that the content available on Soulseek is largely underground independent music, and that its stated mission is "to help unsigned and/or independent artists find a place in the ever-growing music industry, in a place where discussion and the creation of music can take place."
