New York - Publisher Conde Nast has announced plans to shutter Flip.com, its online social network and scrapbook creation site aimed at teenaged girls, FishbowlNY reported.

The site is scheduled to shut down on Dec. 16.

"If you have any flipbooks that you would like to save before this date, we suggest you print them," the company wrote in a note to users.

Conde Nast initially launched Flip in February 2007 as a social network, then early this year turned it into a Web application for social networking platforms like Facebook.
